Officer Sean Clark
Born:  November 22, 1972
End of Watch:  April 1, 2007

Born November 22, 1972 in Edmore, Michigan, Sean grew up in Charlotte. He attended Paw Creek Christian Academy and graduated from West Mecklenburg High School where he enjoyed playing sports. After serving in the Special Ops Division in the U.S. Air Force, he realized his dream when he entered Law Enforcement. He loved his Law Enforcement family and was proud to wear the Police uniform.
Sean is also remembered as an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting, riding four-wheelers and loving sports. However, he is most remembered as a loving provider for his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and was happiest when spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Jones Clark; his son and best buddy, Brayden Robert Clark, aged 3 1/2; and a son to arrive in June.
Also surviving are his parents, Robert E. Clark, Jr. and Elona P. Clark of Clinton, NC; and two grandmothers, Arlynn W. Herzog of Michigan and Evelyn Clark of Mint Hill, NC; his sister, Kimberly D. Clark, also of Clinton; and a brother, Scott D. Clark, also of Michigan; Sherry's parents, Richard and Ann Jones of Monroe; a brother-in-law, Richard Jones of Gastonia; as well as other loving extended family; and his Law Enforcement family at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.


Officer Jeff Shelton
Born: September 9, 1971
End of Watch:  April 1, 2007

Officer Shelton was born September 9, 1971 in Fayetteville, NC, the son of John Dale Shelton and Diane Everheart Shelton.  He was a 1990 graduate of Monroe High School, where he played for the Rebels soccer, baseball and football teams.  He loved soccer, NASCAR, hiking and anything outdoors.  He climbed Mount Adams in Washington in 2004.  He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others in any way he could.  He loved his family and his family at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and his cocker spaniel, Cody. 

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and had served 6 years with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in the North Tryon Division.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a student at Stanly Community College.

Jeff is survived by his wife and best friend of 12 years, Jennifer Sparks Shelton; his mother, Diane Everheart Shelton of Monroe; his father John Shelton and his wife Wanda of Fort Mill; two brothers, Chris Shelton and his wife Lauren of Seattle, and Scott Andrew Shelton and his wife Becky of Summerville; a sister, Jennifer Susan Shelton of Monroe; in-laws, Gene and Jane Sparks of Summersville, WV; niece and nephews, Kristen, Taylor, and Riley Shelton; a sister-in-law, Janelle Cornell and her husband Dustin; and other loving family members.  Jeff is also survived by his devoted and dedicated Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police department family. 

He was preceeded in death by his grandparents, J.D. and Nell Shelton and Dewey and Ruby Everheart.
